The proximity to nature and areas for outdoor activities predestines Bratislava to be a true experience for its guests and visitors. Not only sigtseeing and history, museums and theatres, cultural and music events, but also a wide range of leisure activities, such as wellness, sports nightlife or shopping may be experienced in Bratislava.
On sunny days, you may use the cycling trails to reach out of the city centre, indulge during walks or hikes in the Small Carpathians or spend your time actively with in-line skating, tennis, badminton, frisbie or pétanque.
Just outside the city numerous lakes invite for a swim and the fun is guaranteed in thermal spas, baths or waterparks. From among many others let The Centre of Wild Water sports in Čunovo aj (Areál vodných športov) may be mentioned, as well as the waterparks in Senec (Aqua park), Dunajská Streda (Thermalpark) or the thermal baths in Veľký Meder (Thermal Corvinus).
Golf-enthusiasts may also find their full enjoyment in golf resorts, the most renowned just outside of Bratislava to be found on the garden compounds of a barrock-castle in Bernolákovo (Bernolákovo).
Very close to the Water Sports Centre in Čuňovo, situated in the area of the system of waterworks on the river Danube, just on the border to Hungary, the renowned gallery of modern arts, the Danubiana Meulensteen Art Museum (Danubiana Art Museum) is to be found, covering an area of a narrow river peninsula of approx. 1700 m2. Art exhibitions are not only presented indoors, but there is a whole section of local and international sculptors´ work on the garden compounds of Danubiana.
Last but not least, the foothills of the mountain range of the Small Carpathians are one of the most renowned wine growing areas of whole Slovakia. Harvesting festivals, tasting events of the local wine producers and a pleasant escape from the city invite fo a delightful culinary and wine experience.
